Origen Tierra Grata - Single Origin
A coffee shaped by resilience, tradition and renewal
Grown in the high mountains of Pácora, Caldas, Tierra Grata is a coffee that carries more than exceptional flavour. It carries the story of Lina María Cardona, a coffee grower whose connection to the land has been shaped by resilience, family and an enduring commitment to coffee.
Years ago, Lina María’s family experienced difficult times marked by forced displacement due to the presence of armed groups in the region. They also suffered the tragic loss of an aunt, a wound that profoundly affected the family.
Yet, despite these challenges, Lina María chose to continue cultivating the land. Today, coffee represents a path of family renewal and hope, allowing her to preserve the coffee-growing tradition she inherited while building a future around the land that sustains her.
Every bean of Tierra Grata reflects that dedication.
The Cup
Citrus · Hibiscus · Panela · Nuts
Tierra Grata opens with bright citrus and delicate floral notes of hibiscus, followed by crisp apple and the warm sweetness of panela. A subtle nutty finish brings balance and depth to the cup.
Medium acidity · Medium body
The result is a clean, elegant and expressive coffee with a delicate finish.
The Process
Semi-Washed Castillo
Tierra Grata begins with the careful selection of ripe coffee cherries.
The cherries undergo an initial 48-hour fermentation in hermetically sealed tanks. After this stage, the coffee is pulped and placed back into fermentation for another 48 hours.
Once fermentation is complete, the excess mucilage is removed and the coffee moves into the drying stage.
This controlled fermentation process helps develop the coffee’s characteristic clarity, sweetness and delicate aromatic expression, allowing the citrus, floral and panela notes to shine in the cup.
